We understand that everyone has something unique to contribute and we offer a variety of ways you can assist. Experience is not necessary to volunteer - just enthusiasm and commitment!

When you become a WPBT Channel 2 Volunteer, you will:

• Support public broadcasting.
• Enjoy the excitement of a live television broadcast.
• Meet dedicated volunteers and staff who share your commitment to public broadcasting.
• Select from a variety of short and long term positions that match your interests, talents and schedule.
• Go behind the scenes of fundraising during a membership drive and more.

Channel 2’s volunteers play a vital role in the successful operation of the station. Whether they are answering phones during television membership drives, working the Call 2 Auction, or assisting with special events, volunteers help make the station work.  Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and have some community spirited fun! Becoming a volunteer is a great way to show your support for public broadcasting and all the quality programming it offers.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Channel 2 introduces the Volunteer Spotlight, an online feature dedicated to our volunteers.  Each month we plan to speak to volunteer and highlight their experience at Channel 2.  

Our Volunteer Spotlight introduces you to Lauren Caban, a long-time member and recent volunteer at the Spring Call 2 Auction. Here is some of what Lauren had to say about her time as a volunteer:

"I was one of the first people to arrive, and so I waited in the lobby for a little while. The walls were covered with honors and awards and many glass shelves completely full of trophies recognizing outstanding programs from over the decades. As I sat there, I watched people arrive and I was warmly introduced to many...I am so proud of my local PBS station and its remarkable programming!"
